Baby Monica
A 5 month pre-born baby was found on the streets of Brooklyn not too long ago. The Life Center of New York in Brooklyn saw this tragedy on the local news and was moved to see if they would be able to give this abandoned child a proper funeral and burial.
We contacted the Medical Examiner’s Office and requested to receive her body. After all the investigations and tests were completed the Life Center was just given the child whom we named "Baby Monica."
On Saturday, June 29, 2019, Baby Monica will be driven from Clavin’s Funeral Home in Bay Ridge to the Redemtorist Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help on 60th Street & 5th Avenue, who have so generously agreed to provide her a funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.
We are also grateful to our NYC Police Department who will provide pallbearers and bagpipers for Baby Monica.
She will be buried in the "Guardian Angel" section that Resurrection Cemetery in Staten Island so graciously provides for abandoned babies. Her name will be inscribed on the cemetery stone..
As we are living in a "culture of death" and a throw away society, the Life Center wants to show that life is sacred from beginning to end, praying that what we do here will advance the culture of life.
Baby Monica, like all of us, deserves dignity and respect in living and in dying.
Try your best to attend her funeral Mass and please pray for Baby Monica’s mother!
